In a dazzling display of basketball prowess, the William & Mary Tribe took down the Charleston Cougars with an impressive score of 90-75 on Monday night. The game was held at the Tribe’s home court and showcased some thrilling plays that had fans on the edge of their seats!
The standout player for William & Mary was none other than Kyle Pulliam, who came off the bench to score an impactful 18 points. Pulliam had a remarkable shooting night, hitting 6 out of 9 from the field and sinking 2 out of 5 from three-point range. He was also perfect at the free-throw line, going 4 for 4. His energetic performance provided a much-needed spark for the Tribe.
Aside from Pulliam, teammates Isaiah Mbeng and Gabe Dorsey also contributed significantly, adding 12 points and 11 points respectively. Fans were particularly excited to see Mbeng step up in the second half, where he scored all of his points, solidifying the Tribe’s lead.
The game was closely contested right up until halftime, where the Tribe held a slender two-point lead. In the first half, Noah Collier led the Tribe with 10 points, showcasing the team’s depth and talent.
William & Mary came out strong in the second half with an astonishing 8-0 run that set the tone for the rest of the game. The Tribe used this momentum to extend their lead and effectively control the pace.
This victory not only enhances William & Mary’s record to 14-9 but also improves their standing in the Coastal Athletic Association, now sitting at 8-2 in conference play. In contrast, the Cougars’ record now stands at 17-6, with a 7-3 showing in the same conference.
Prior to this celebratory win, the Tribe faced a tough challenge against Campbell, suffering a challenging defeat of 96-55. This new victory, however, puts them back on track and bolsters their confidence as they aim to keep the momentum going in future matchups.
With the Tribe averaging 80.3 points per game, which highlighted their offensive abilities, fans can expect even more high-scoring games ahead. William & Mary looks poised to make their mark and move up the rankings as they continue their journey in the Coastal Athletic Association.
