Charleston County Waterparks Open Daily Starting Wednesday
The hot days of summer just got a bit cooler with the waterparks in Charleston County, South Carolina announcing they will be open every day starting Wednesday. The three waterparks, Whirlin’ Waters Adventure Waterpark, Splash Island Waterpark, and Splash Zone Waterpark will provide residents and visitors a respite from the heat in a fun and exciting environment.
Whirlin’ Waters Adventure Waterpark in North Charleston
Whirlin’ Waters Adventure Waterpark, located in North Charleston, will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and extend its hours to 6 p.m. on weekends. This schedule will remain effective until Aug. 17 when the park will switch to weekend-only hours before finally closing for the season on Sept. 2. This large waterpark is packed with exhilarating features like the Washout, a 60 ft. tall multi-person slide, the relaxing Rollin’ River lazy river, the exciting Big Kahuna wave pool, and the competitive Rip Tide Run mat racer slide among others.
Splash Island Waterpark in Mount Pleasant
Splash Island Waterpark in Mount Pleasant joins the daily schedule as well with operation time from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays. The park will open at 1 p.m. and close at 6 p.m. on Saturdays and resume the 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule on Sundays. This waterpark will close for the season earlier than others, ceasing operations on Aug. 4. Splash Island, which is nestled within Palmetto Islands County Park, brings Cyclone swirling water ride, sprays, geysers, raindrop waterfalls, and more. It is an ideal destination for toddlers and preteen children.
Splash Zone Waterpark on James Island
Splash Zone Waterpark located in James Island County Park also opens daily. It will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, changing to 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and returning to the 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule on Sundays. Like Splash Island Park, Splash Zone will also wrap up its season on Aug. 4. This park offers a relaxing lazy river, refreshing waterfalls, an enormous bucket for a sudden water downpour, and an exciting 200 ft. slide, promising a thrilling experience to its visitors.
West County Aquatic Center in Hollywood
The West County Aquatic Center in Hollywood will welcome visitors daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and will open its door at 1 p.m. on Sundays till 6 p.m. From Aug. 17, its operations will shift to weekend-only hours before closing for the season on Sept. 2. This aquatic center features a 6,000-square-foot pool that attracts beginners as well as trained swimmers. It also provides programs like swim lessons, fitness facilities and hosts a competitive swim team.
The opening of these waterparks offers a great summer resource for families and individuals to escape the heat, engage in physical activities and enjoy a day full of excitement and entertainment. They are all officially opening on Wednesday and are all set to make your summer extra special this year.
