Truck Cab Engulfed by Fire on Charleston Highway During a Mobile Home Move

In a shocking incident, a truck cab caught fire on the Charleston highway while relocating a mobile home. The mishap occurred on the bustling Highway 64 around 1:40 PM, causing a temporary disruption in traffic flow.

Unforeseen Fire Eruption on Highway 64

Colleton County fire and rescue teams promptly arrived at the scene near Rodeo Drive following the fiery incident. On arrival, they found the truck’s cab well-involved with fire, its flames wildly dancing, threatening the life of the single-wide mobile home it was towing. The high-intensity flames led to a blockade of a lane on the busy highway, creating a mild disruption.

Fire Rescue Operation and Damage

The fire department swiftly sprung into action, battling against time and the soaring flames. Despite the fierce onslaught of the blaze, crews managed to subdue the fire, preventing any significant loss. However, the heat resulted in melting a portion of the siding on the mobile home, causing mild damage.

Firefighters employed a thermal imaging device to check the interior of the mobile home. Thankfully, the interior remained unscathed, avoiding any extensive damage that could have been caused by the fire.

No Injuries Reported

Fortuitously, the truck driver managed to evade harm and was reported as unscathed. The quick response from the rescue teams and the driver’s decision to quickly evacuate the truck cab significantly contributed to avoiding a potential tragedy.

Investigations are currently ongoing to determine the cause of the fire. It remains unknown whether the fire was due to malfunctioning truck parts or other factors. Meanwhile, traffic on Highway 64 has returned to its regular flow following the brief interruption.

Commendation for Colleton County Fire-Rescue

The rescue operation demonstrated the commendable readiness and swift response of the Colleton County Fire-Rescue team. Their tireless efforts ensured that the fire was contained promptly, preventing the flames from engulfing the mobile home and causing further disruption on Highway 64.
