On Friday, August 2, Tanger Outlets Charleston hosted a lively Back-to-School Bash as part of South Carolina’s annual Tax-Free Holiday weekend. The event, which ran from 5 PM to 7 PM, aimed to provide families with fun and savings as they prepare for the upcoming school year.
Shoppers at the Tanger Outlets enjoyed a range of discounts from 20% to 70% off various items throughout the outlet’s many stores. This event was especially appealing because it coincided with the tax-free weekend, allowing families to make the most of their shopping.
Donald Ross, a shopper at the event, shared how much his son was looking forward to the occasion. “He gets the chance to get some more clothes and express himself through fashion, and you know, I’m just here to foot the bill,” Ross said with a smile.
The Back-to-School Bash was not all about shopping. Families could also participate in various activities including games, giveaways, and fun music. There were food trucks on-site, offering delicious meals while children enjoyed face painting and other lively festivities.
One young attendee, Lily Horne, expressed her excitement, saying, “I got this balloon from the nice lady over there at the little balloon stand and I got a little doggy.” This emphasizes the community vibe and fun atmosphere the event aimed to create.
Numerous well-known brands participated in the event, such as Nike, Crocs, J.Crew, and Gap. Shopper Emily Benardo remarked on the savings they were able to achieve, stating, “I mean, obviously it’s still expensive, but with tax-free weekend, it’s good. And most of the stores have pretty good, like, buy one get one and half-off deals.”
Additionally, students who purchased a backpack on that day had the chance to personalize it by adding patches, allowing them to express their individual styles even further.
The Back-to-School Bash held at Tanger Outlets Charleston was a successful event that brought together families to kick off the school year right. With various activities and fantastic discounts, it provided a great opportunity for shoppers to save money while making lasting memories.
