Summerville Native Actor Johnny Wactor Fatally Shot in L.A.

Tragic Incident Claims the Life of Former “General Hospital” Star

Summerville native and former “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor was tragically shot and killed in Los Angeles in the early hours of May 25. The 37-year-old actor, a graduate of Summerville High School, was fatally wounded while trying to shield a coworker from harm during a theft involving his car.

Act of Heroism Leads to Tragic Outcome

According to reports, Wactor had just finished work at a rooftop bar with a female coworker when he noticed individuals attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his vehicle. In a selfless act of bravery, Wactor moved to protect his coworker from the thieves, who were wearing masks. Despite not engaging with the perpetrators, Wactor was shot by the assailants, who fled the scene.

Wactor was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the heinous crime.

A Life Cut Short

Johnny Wactor, the oldest of three brothers, had a promising career in the entertainment industry. Starting with humble beginnings in local productions in Summerville, Wactor went on to make a name for himself in Hollywood. His role as Brando Corbin on “General Hospital” garnered him widespread recognition and a dedicated fan following.
