Summerville Man Faces Reckless Vehicular Homicide Charges in Hit-And-Run Case
In Charleston, South Carolina, legal proceedings are commencing against Seth Carlson, the Summerville man implicated in a lethal hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of two young women in April. Court documents specify that Carlson’s first court appearance was scheduled for Friday.
The Hit-And-Run Incident
The deadly incident involved 20-year-olds Lizzy Zito and Arianna Gamber, who were reportedly hit by two separate drivers. Carlson, the first of these drivers, is being held accountable for their deaths. Charged with two counts of reckless vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident leading to fatalities, he was arrested on May 6 and granted a $600,000 bond on May 24. The case also involves another suspect, Max Gentilin, who is accused of striking the same victims half an hour later. Gentilin has also been arrested and subsequently released on bond. Carlson was not mandatory to attend Friday’s hearing and was absent from the proceedings.
Victims of the Tragic Event
The victims, Zito and Gamber were both in their early 20s. Anderson was a senior psychology major at the College of Charleston, about to complete her degree in just three years. Following her tragic death, the college gave its condolences, acknowledging her musical talent and love for animals. Sympathy was extended towards Zito’s family, friends, classmates, and faculty, urging everyone to remember her during these challenging times.
What’s Next for the Case
Carlson is obliged to attend the next hearing on October 21, where he is anticipated to enter a plea. As the case moves forward, the consequences remain significant for both defendants and the justice sought for the victims and their families presses on.
