South Carolina witnessed another tragic weekend on its roadways, with a total of 10 fatal crashes reported across multiple counties. These figures come from the South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS), which gathered data from Friday, February 23 through Sunday, February 25.

Detailed Report of the Fatalities

The deadly accidents claimed lives in several counties, including Charleston, Greenville, Lexington, Orangeburg, and Spartanburg. Each of the incidents resulted in one or more fatalities, leading to an overall death toll of 10 over the two-day period.

In the Charleston County municipality of Johns Island, an unfortunate incident occurred on Sunday evening when a driver fatally crashed their vehicle into a tree. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

The data provided by the SCDPS also shows that five fatal collisions took place on a notorious segment of Interstate 26 in Spartanburg County. Greenville County witnessed one fatal collision, while two distinct accidents resulted in fatalities in Lexington County.
