SOL Southwest Kitchen Introduces New Kitchen Karma Menu Supporting First Tee – Greater Charleston

SOL Southwest Kitchen Announces New Kitchen Karma Menu Benefiting First Tee – Greater Charleston

Charleston, South Carolina’s popular dining destination, SOL Southwest Kitchen, has announced a brand new Kitchen Karma menu that will support Charleston’s local youth development programs. This initiative will run from May 1 to June 12, with a particular focus on benefiting First Tee – Greater Charleston.

Kitchen Karma Specials

The new Kitchen Karma menu features delectable delights such as a Spicy Citrus Peach Margarita, Peach by the Beach Cocktail, Under the Bourbon Sun Cocktail, Oaxacan Sunset Cocktail, Peach Nojito Mocktail, and Drunken Beef Nachos. Each of these limited-time specials takes a culinary journey through Southwestern flavors, creatively incorporating peaches into signature drinks and dishes.

For every Kitchen Karma item sold, SOL’s Mt. Pleasant and Summerville locations will donate $1 to programs under First Tee – Greater Charleston. These initiatives cater to youth access to golf and interpersonal skill-building at seven golf courses, 41 schools, and numerous community centers spread across Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties.

SOL’s Community Engagement

Since its inception in 2013, SOL’s Kitchen Karma has raised nearly $100,000 for various local causes, reinstating SOL’s commitment to community engagement and support. “It has been a way for us to give back,” says restaurant owner David Clark. He adds, “Our only requirement when choosing a charitable organization is that the funds raised stay local. First Tee – Greater Charleston is a perfect partner because they provide character-building programs for thousands of children each year right here in Charleston.” Notably, these programs not only teach golf but offer empowering leadership skills that will shape the community’s future.

About First Tee – Greater Charleston

First Tee – Greater Charleston is a non-profit organization established in 2008. It reaches out to young people, aged 5-18, from diverse backgrounds. With a range of on-course, in-school, and community outreach programs, it employs the game of golf as a medium to impart life-enhancing values and interpersonal skills to thousands of children each year in Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties. In 2023 alone, it impacted nearly 20,000 children.

About Kitchen Karma

Launched by SOL Southwest Kitchen in 2013, Kitchen Karma is a philanthropic initiative that seeks to aid a different local cause each month through its kitchen profits. These contributions have reached various beneficiaries such as Lowcountry Orphan Relief, One80 Place, Charleston Animal Society, Wings for Kids, and now, First Tee – Greater Charleston. This endeavor reflects SOL’s wider mission to positively enrich the Charleston community through its culinary prowess.

SOL’s latest Kitchen Karma initiative provides an excellent opportunity for patrons to savor unique, delicious food while contributing to an important local cause. It stands as a testament to the transformative power of community engagement and corporate social responsibility in shaping local communities.
