Sen. Tim Scott Weds Mindy Noce in Charleston Church Wedding

U.S. Senator Tim Scott tied the knot with Mindy Noce in an intimate wedding ceremony held in Seacoast Church, Mount Pleasant, on August 3, 2024. The South Carolina Republican has been on a spiritual journey seeking a wife for almost three decades, and his prayers were answered when he exchanged vows with 47-year-old interior designer Noce.

A Ceremony of Love and Friendship

The ceremony marked the first wedding for a sitting U.S. senator from South Carolina in over 50 years. Among those in attendance were distinguished guests including former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, Sen. John Thune of South Dakota, Sen. Lindsey Graham, Sen. James Lankford of Oklahoma, Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming, former Rep. Mark Walker of North Carolina, and former Tennessee Governor, Bill Haslam.

Long-term friend and founding pastor at Seacoast Church, Greg Surratt, officiated the ceremony, while Scott’s elder brother, Ben Scott, served as best man. Joni Blair, a close friend from the College of Charleston, was Noce’s matron of honor.

During the ceremony, a Bible passage emphasizing the strength of unity as, “Two are better than one,” was read out. The newlyweds then had their first dance to the tunes of “Swayin’ to the Music (Slow Dancin’)” by Johnny Rivers.

Finding Love After Public Life

Scott expressed that his past years of waiting and praying had been a blessing in disguise as it provided him the time to understand the complexities of love and relationships. His work in politics, he says, had been a major part of his life until he finally found Noce.

Their journey began in late 2022 when a mutual friend from Seacoast Church initiated their introduction. After a rewarding two-hour phone conversation and several bible study sessions, their bonds grew stronger.

Public Debut and Proposal

Scott’s marital status, which was scrutinized during his 2024 presidential campaign, led to the couple’s public debut on the third GOP debate stage in Miami. He proposed to Noce on the night of January 20, on Kiawah Island. Scott hailed the significance of dating through seasons, not simply of the year, but of life as well.

Post-Wedding Revelations

Following the wedding, Scott took to social media to express his joy, quoting Matthew 19:6, “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

The couple planned a private honeymoon “out West,” continued to maintain their privacy by not specifying details. They also confirmed their decision to reside in Charleston post their marriage.

Love Outside the Wings of Time

The long-awaited marital union of Sen. Tim Scott and Mindy Noce, not only signifies their personal victory over solitude but also highlights the universal ethos of patience, faith, and companionship.
