The WSCGA Vicki Hillen Junior Golf Foundation announced on Tuesday that applications are open for Rosie Jones Mentoring Fund grants, tasked with preparing South Carolina’s young female golf student-athletes to achieve success both on and off the course.

The brand-new program, backed by 501c3 non-profit WSCGA Vicki Hillen JGF, is aimed to help South Carolina’s competitive young female golfers realize their dreams of playing at the college level and possibly even further. Applications are now available and can be accessed over email via admin@wscga.org or online at https://form.jotform.com/Wscga/2024-rosie-jones-mentoring-grant-ap. The final date for submission of applications has been scheduled for June 10.

Eligibility Criteria and Timeline

This year’s four lucky mentees will be chosen based on various criteria including GPA, SC Jr. Golf Rank, an endorsement from their coach, and a personal essay. Selected grantees will be notified by June 17, and by the end of June, they will be paired with their respective mentors for the six- to nine-month program.

“The program’s mission is to create insightful learning opportunities and teach life lessons that will enhance our mentees’ game while helping them become more effective players as well as positive, confident, and productive adults,” explains the fund’s founder, LPGA and Legends Tour champion Rosie Jones.

Mentors 2024

The mentors for 2024 include current and former collegiate women’s golf coaches, tour members, and professional instructors. Some of the notable names are: Nanci Bowen, Kristi Coggins, Krista Dunton, Betty Palmer, and Angie Ridgeway.
