The Charleston-based law firm, Rosen Hagood, LLC, has named James A. Bruorton IV, Esq., as its new co-managing member. Mr. Bruorton assumes the role previously held by H. Brewton Hagood, Esq., effective immediately.
Hagood has been a significant figure in Rosen Hagood, practicing in the areas of construction litigation, mediation and arbitration, commercial litigation, and probate and estate litigation. He will continue his active participation in these areas in the law firm moving forward.
Bruorton expressed his gratitude and anticipation towards his new responsibilities, stating, “I am honored and excited to help lead the firm that has been so good to me for the past 21 years. While serving as co-managing member alongside Andrew Gowdown, Bruorton will maintain his practice in the areas of construction litigation, business and commercial litigation, employment litigation, personal injury, and administrative and government law. His commitment to justice and effective legal practice has helped secure the triumph of numerous clients across diverse industries, becoming an essential figure in Rosen Hagood law firm.
In 2015, Bruorton achieved a significant milestone in his career by obtaining the biggest verdict in the firm’s history. This commendable achievement also recorded one of the top verdicts in South Carolina and ranks in the top 50 verdicts in the United States in the same year.
Bruorton, a graduate of Clemson University and the University of Tennessee School of Law, has gained recognition in The Best Lawyers in America® in the areas of construction law and litigation. Additionally, Super Lawyers have distinguished him for his legal service, and he holds a Martindale Hubbell AV Preeminent® rating.
Aside from his professional contributions, Bruorton takes an active role in the community. He coaches youth sports, assists local non-profits, participates in mission trips, teaches high-school Sunday School, and is currently serving as Co-Chair on the Senior Pastor/Head of Staff search committee for Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church.
