Chase Starts with Four Men Threatening a Civilian

In the early hours of Saturday morning around 4 am, North Charleston police reported to an emergency call at 4840 Tanger Blvd. According to the information available, there were four men allegedly threatening someone at the noted location.

Marijuana Smell Leads to Police Pursuit

The attending officers reported smelling marijuana as they approached the suspects’ vehicle. The driver, upon noticing the police officers, hastily sped away. This impromptu exit triggered a house-racing police chase on the bustling I-26 west direction, according to Harve Jacob, a spokesperson for the North Charleston Police Department.

Car Stuck in Mud Brings Chase to End

The pursuit eventually concluded at the intersection of Highway 176 and Cypress Campground Road when the suspects’ vehicle got entrenched in the mud, rendering further movement impossible.

Suspects Arrested and on the Run

One of the passengers, identified as 18-year-old Anthony Frazier, was apprehended at the scene. Frazier, who is now facing charges of receiving stolen goods under the value of $2,000, is currently in custody at the Al Cannon Detention Center. The North Charleston K-9 unit, along with Berkeley County deputies, initiated a search for the remaining individuals who had fled from the immobilized vehicle. At the time of reporting, these suspects were still at large. Assisting in the pursuit were units from the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Accused Awaits Trial

The accused, Anthony Frazier, awaits the next steps in his legal process. Meanwhile, the concerted search operation continues to apprehend the remaining suspects, further emphasizing the importance of community participation and awareness in aiding law enforcement efforts in their pursuit of justice.

The North Charleston Police Department expressed their commitment to ensure public safety and bring the remaining suspects to justice. They urge locals to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help expedite the capture of the outstanding suspects.
