Charleston-based Ohm Radio 96.3 FM is excited to announce their Summer Pledge Drive and Appreciation Party set to commence this season. The two-week community effort aims to maintain the interpersonal and commercial-free ambience of the station, a distinctive attribute appreciated by many listeners.
The celebration will include a DJ & Volunteer Appreciation Party scheduled on Sunday, June 23rd. The event occurs at The Refinery, a well-known activity hub nestled in the heart of downtown Charleston. The four-hour appreciation party kicks off at 1 pm and lasts until 5 pm. In addition to the lively thrills, attendees are invited to participate in honoring local DJs and volunteers during a small award ceremony.
Following the award ceremony, local restaurant CLEATS is set to play host for an invigorating live music performance by the Lee Barbour Polyverse Trio. Partygoers can unwind and indulge in soothing tunes for an immersive musical experience. As a pleasing wrap-up, the event closes with an energized happy hour for all the attendees.
The 5K Summer Pledge Drive is a part of a broader initiative to preserve the unique essence of Ohm Radio, operating as Charleston’s first commercial-free, listener-supported, and community-focused radio station. The agenda of the pledge drive is to raise funds to continue the commercial-free operations. All donations are tax-deductible, and the funding raised is directed towards the ongoing support and development of the channel.
Interested patrons are welcomed to contribute to the Ohm Radio 5K Summer Pledge Drive. Being a listener-oriented endeavor, minor contributions can play a significant role in keeping the operation of the station alive and listener-friendly. Contributions carry additional benefits since they are recognized as tax-deductible donations under prevailing laws.
By pledging their support, the donors get a chance to be part of a progressive initiative that places its community at the forefront. It also demonstrates a collective effort to keep Charleston’s airwaves interesting and diverse for listeners of all ages and backgrounds. Such initiatives evoke a sense of unity and shared cooperation which is certainly crucial to the continued growth of local community radio stations like Ohm Radio.
