In a tragic turn of events, a fatal crash that took place in Berkeley County last Saturday night claimed the life of a resident of North Charleston. The Berkley County Coroner’s Office has now confirmed his identity: Mr. Davon Higgins, aged 28.
The fatal accident occurred roughly around 8:15 p.m. on Cypress Gardens Road at the intersection of Bushy Park Road. The location is estimated to be about seven miles south from the town of Moncks Corner, Berkeley County.
According to preliminary investigations, a 2014 Dodge Charger driven by Mr. Higgins was headed south on the Cypress Gardens Road when the vehicle reportedly veered off the road and crashed into a tree.
Mr. Higgins sustained critical injuries in the accident and later succumbed to them.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office have taken over the investigation of the tragic incident. More details will be revealed as the case progresses.
