Luxury Townhomes Set to Enrich Charleston’s Skyline

Luxury Townhomes Set to Enrich Charleston’s Skyline

Charleston, S.C., heralds a new era of luxury living as The Beach Co. has initiated construction on an opulent community of townhomes overlooking Charleston’s Ashley River. Poised at the intersection of Broad and Barre streets in Harleston Village, this marvelous architectural endeavor aims to provide a lavish lifestyle with breathtaking views of the Safe Harbor City Marina.

The New Spectacle in Town

The highly-anticipated development comprises 15 triple-story townhomes and eight apartment flats, a fine blend of immaculate design and urban living. The suite of options includes two- and three-bedroom floor plans, outfitted with magnificent features that align with the rich heritage of Charleston. Townhomes will be complemented by gated gardens and private balconies, offering panoramic views of the spectacular Ashley River. Each dwelling will feature custom cabinetry, gourmet kitchens with stainless steel appliances, oversized showers complete with benches, dual vanities, soaking tubs, and spacious walk-in closets. The high ceilings and street-level entries lend a grandeur feel to the residences, reflecting the historic architecture of the city.

The Charles: A Pinnacle of Luxury

This high-end development, christened as ‘The Charles’, showcases a unique addition to the city’s opulent accommodations. Apart from the individual residences, The Charles will be renowned for its vast, half-acre park laden with open green spaces and stunning views of the Ashley River. Speaking on the development, Dan Doyle, Chief Operating Officer of The Beach Co., highlighted the demand surpassing supply for their Jasper residences since their launch in 2021. The Charles is set out to cater to this increasing demand, offering exclusive rental rights in concert with the premier facilities of The Jasper.

Harmonizing Old Charm with Modern Aesthetics

The Charles is a testament to The Beach Co.’s attempt to merge Charleston’s architectural heritage with contemporary design sensibilities. Antunovich Associates, a renowned name for their expertise in historic preservation and adaptive reuse projects, have been roped in for this ambitious project. The esteemed Chicago architect Joe Antunovich, who previously designed the neighboring Jasper Community, leads the team. The design emphasizes incorporating unique elements throughout the residences such as wrought iron gates, keyless entry systems, and hand-picked finishes to encapsulate the city’s timeless elegance.

A Wealth of Amenities

The homeowners at The Charles will enjoy exclusive access to a plethora of deluxe amenities at The Jasper, including a commercial fitness center complete with a free-weight circuit facility, private wine lockers, yoga and outdoor training areas, locker rooms with showers and saunas, and a rooftop pool. The Charles will also feature a demonstration kitchen with a dedicated space for catering private events. A vibrant retail and dining community awaits residents across the street at The Jasper, including restaurants such as Costa and Alcove Market, alongside Spa Azure, Balfour Beatty, Baseline Fitness, Form Charleston, and Hutton + Home.

Anticipated Completion

The Charles is anticipated to be completed in the summer of 2025, promising grandeur and luxury that aligns with Charleston’s historic charm. In addition to Antunovich Associates, other partnering entities include DesignWorks, Forsberg Engineering and Balfour Beatty. First Bank is providing the construction finance for this massive architectural undertaking, which will redefine luxury living in Charleston.
