Little Stranger Set to Electrify Charleston with Upcoming Concert on November 2

Exciting Times Ahead for Charleston Music Lovers!

Charleston, get ready to rock because the electrifying hip-hop duo Little Stranger is set to return to the stage right here in our vibrant city! Their upcoming show at The Refinery on November 2 promises to be an unforgettable evening packed with energy, fun, and a sprinkle of local flair. Alongside them, you’ll catch the thrilling sounds of Tropidelic and the comedic beats of Damn Skippy. If you love live music, this is a night you definitely won’t want to miss!

Meet Little Stranger

For those who might not be familiar, Little Stranger is made up of the dynamic duo of John Shields and Kevin Shields—and no, they aren’t related! Hailing from Philadelphia but now proudly calling Charleston home, these two have made quite a name for themselves, performing at prestigious festivals like Lollapalooza in Chicago and Governor’s Ball in New York City. Their unique style combines melodic rap with clever lyrics, which can be both silly and insightful.

It’s hard not to smile when you see them live. Who else throws Philly cheesesteaks into the crowd during concerts? That’s right, these guys are all about the fun! Their latest album, “Sat Around Trippin’,” released this past summer, features collaborations with artists from our own backyard and beyond, showcasing the vibrant music scene they’ve embraced.

New Album and Collaborations

“A lot of hip-hop is very collab-centric,” Kevin explains. For this album, they reached out to people they know and respect, and that really shows in the music. Local producers like Matt Zutell and Ryan “Wolfgang” Zimmerman lent their talents to the project, along with a host of other fantastic artists. And while they’ve been away touring, time spent in their James Island studio has allowed them to create some magic together, like the track “Busted Brain”, which came together in just three hours!

The duo has shared time with skilled musicians from various genres, including Doom Flamingo’s Thomas Kenney and local favorites Damn Skippy. It’s these connections and the collaborative spirit that keeps them grounded and inspired.

Touring Life and Love for Charleston

Since 2017, they’ve been hard at work, sharing their music and performing at more than 120 shows a year. For John, the time spent on the road can sometimes feel overwhelming, but every time they return to Charleston, it feels special. “Because we were gone half the year, it makes me love it when we’re back,” he shares fondly. This love shines through in their performances as they bring a slice of Charleston’s charm to their art.

Although their touring takes them across the country, they make it a priority to craft new material during their downtime back home. Every moment spent here fuels their creativity, and it’s clear how much they appreciate the local music scene and their passionate fans.

Join the Fun!

So mark your calendars for November 2, and grab your tickets! With doors opening at 6 p.m. and the show starting at 7 p.m., you’ll want to get there early to soak in the vibe. General admission is just $25, and VIP tickets are available for $40.

It’s not just a concert; it’s an experience! Whether you’re going solo or bringing friends, you’ll be greeted with good music and good times. Little Stranger is ready to show us how they can party, and if their previous performances are any indication, we’re all in for a treat!
