North Charleston, S.C – The law enforcement authorities are ardently seeking information on a recent robbery at a liquor store. The North Charleston Police Department reported an armed robbery at Jay’s Liquor store located on the 8500 block of Rivers Avenue.
The alarm was raised on Thursday afternoon when the store clerk alerted the police to the horrifying incident. The police quickly responded and gathered the initial information based on the victim’s account.
The store clerk narrated how a man entered the store around the hours of 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. He was fully clad in black clothes from head to toe, inclusive of gloves and a mask, with white and black tennis shoes. Notably, a firearm was raised visibly in his front waistband, presenting an immediate threat.
The man allegedly walked around the store before heading to the counter with a bag. Under the threat of his weapon, the worker was compelled to empty the cash register into the robber’s bag. The man subsequently left the establishment, leaving behind a tense atmosphere of fear.
Police, in their initial investigation, thoroughly examined the surveillance footage from the store. It revealed a man, conforming to the store clerk’s description, running in the direction away from the store. He then entered a blue Audi sedan, which is suspected to be the getaway vehicle.
