Charleston baseball sophomore pitcher Jake Brink has been named the CAA Pitcher of the Week following a shutout performance against Wofford on Friday. Brink’s performance propelled the Cougars to take game one of the series win over the weekend. This is Brink’s first conference honor.
Brink allowed just three hits over 8.0 shutout innings in the 4-0 victory over Wofford. The right-hander held a Terriers offense that was leading the nation with a .383 batting average and 13.8 runs per game to only three singles while retiring the final 13 batters he faced. Brink, who struck out four, improved to 3-0 this season with a 2.03 ERA.
