SOUTH CAROLINA:

The wrath of Hurricane Helene unleashed a horrifying nightmare across South Carolina, taking the lives of 19 individuals including a pair of brave firefighters who lost their lives during their service. The fatal casualties were confirmed by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety, marking another day of sorrow and devastation for the communities across the Palmetto State.

The office of the county coroner confirmed the alarming numbers which vary across different counties. According to the reports, the fatalities toll in each county is as follows:

  • Newberry: 2
  • Anderson: 2
  • Saluda: 2
  • Aiken: 4
  • Spartanburg: 5
  • Greenville: 4

Firefighters fall victim to Helene’s Havoc

Aiken County saw four of such tragedies take place as trees fell through roofs, claiming the lives of four individuals. The city of Newberry experienced similar dread early Friday morning as a couple met their untimely death due to a collision with a fallen tree.
