Lowcountry, S.C. – Exciting news has arrived for those committed to making a difference in our community! Home Telecom has declared that they will be disbursing a whopping $68,000 to local nonprofits this year through their annual Home Community Fund grant program. This initiative will provide essential support to 22 nonprofits dedicated to elevating our beloved Tri-County coastal region of South Carolina. Isn’t that fantastic?
Since its inception in 2002, the partnership between Home Telecom and the Coastal Community Foundation has proven to be a game-changer for our local nonprofits. To date, they have collectively contributed an impressive $595,228 to various organizations in Berkeley, Dorchester, and Charleston counties. That’s a significant boost, wouldn’t you agree?
The Coastal Community Foundation has worked hand-in-hand with Home Telecom because they believe in the power of collaboration. Their goal is to promote positive change throughout the region, and it seems they’re hitting the nail on the head! According to Darrin Goss, Sr., the President and CEO of the Coastal Community Foundation, “Home Telecom is an example of the positive impact corporate investment has on our region. The Home Community Fund not only supports several Tri-County nonprofits but allows employees to get involved in the decision-making process.” This initiative gives everyone a chance to think about how they can contribute to the joy of giving back.
Home Telecom’s President and CEO, Will Helmly, emphasizes the importance of community service. Speaking passionately about their mission, he stated, “As a company who was founded on community service more than 120 years ago, the constructive influence of boosting charitable organizations in our area is a vital part of our core mission.” This commitment to community support definitely shines through!
Helmly also shared that their efforts have allowed them to grow and expand their grants over the years. “We are grateful that we’ve been able to grow and expand this grant over the years to provide a boost to more applicants in more regions,” he explained. And while it’s heartwarming to see such a flourishing philanthropic spirit, it’s important to note that the selection process isn’t easy. “Every year we struggle to make our final selections because every applicant is worthy of support,” he added.
Are you or someone you know involved with a nonprofit organization that could benefit from this program? Look no further! The next cycle for the Home Community Fund grant applications will officially open on April 1, 2025. Remember, all requests must be submitted by June 1, 2025, so be sure to spread the word!
With a focus on supporting local organizations, Home Telecom continues to play a pivotal role in fostering a sense of community and encouraging positive developments throughout the Tri-County area. Their dedication to strengthening local nonprofits is not just about giving money—it’s about building relationships that create a vibrant community.
Everyone can play a role in making this area a better place to live, work, and thrive. Let’s raise a toast to the amazing organizations doing great work and the generous folks at Home Telecom for making a real difference in our Lowcountry!
