Harvest Festival Brings Bluegrass and Family Fun to Johns Island!

Johns Island, S.C. — Fall is officially in the air, and the vibrant colors of autumn are back to take center stage at the 2024 Harvest Festival. Hosted by Charleston County Parks, this delightful event is perfect for families looking for a charming way to celebrate the season. Mark your calendars, because on Saturday, November 2, festivities run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Johns Island County Park!

Kick Off with Some Exciting Entertainment!

Everything starts with a bang as the City of Charleston’s Mounted Police will perform a thrilling demonstration at 11 a.m. So, gather your family and friends and prepare for a day filled with sensational bluegrass music! With concerts scheduled throughout the day, some of Charleston’s finest bluegrass talents are ready to dazzle attendees with their lively tunes.

Tasty Treats and Unique Crafts Await!

One of the highlights of the day is, of course, the incredible food! Festivalgoers can feast on a delicious array of offerings, from smoky barbecue to sweet kettle corn and, of course, refreshing cold beverages. Kids (and adults alike) will find joy indulging in all the yummy treats!

And that’s not all! While you fill your tummy, don’t forget to check out the crafters’ market. You’ll find unique handmade items that make perfect holiday gifts, proving that the festival is not just about entertainment but also a great opportunity to snag some early presents!

Seasonal Fun for the Whole Family!

Bring the kids along because this festival is packed with seasonal activities designed to create lasting memories. Think hayrides, arts and crafts, and the always-popular pumpkin painting — there’s something for every little one to enjoy!

In an effort to create an inclusive environment, Charleston County Parks has teamed up with Kulture City. They’ll provide sensory-friendly amenities like sensory bags and a quiet area located behind the park’s barn, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the fun without feeling overwhelmed.

Attending the Festival

Want to join in on the fun? The admission fee for the Harvest Festival is just $10 per person, while kids aged 12 and under and Gold Pass holders can enter for free (don’t forget to bring your Gold Pass!). Food and drinks will be available for purchase; just a reminder that a valid ID is required for alcohol sales.

Plan ahead and bring your own chairs or blankets for cozy seating. And if you’ve got a furry friend at home, leashed dogs are welcome to join in the festivities! Just keep in mind that outside alcohol and coolers aren’t allowed in the park.
