The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is actively investigating the scene of a commercial structure fire in Goose Creek. Officials with the City of Goose Creek Fire Department say they responded at 10:07 p.m. Saturday to the Creekside Center shopping complex on reports of a structure fire. Upon arrival, fire crews were able to confirm the presence of a structure fire at Leo’s Beer, Tobacco & Vape Outlet which resides in Unit #103 of 205 North Goose Creek Boulevard.
Crews were able to contain the fire to Leo’s, although the fire did cause minor damage to some of the surrounding units within the strip mall. Leo’s itself reportedly sustained severe and extensive damage during the fire. Officials say Leo’s will not be reopening any time in the near future. The nearby businesses which sustained damage are reportedly cleared to continue operation as normal. No injuries to occupants or firefighters were reported.
As of Sunday morning, law enforcement is still on scene investigating the incident. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is taking charge of the investigation to determine the cause of the fire and any potential factors that may have contributed to the severity of the damage. Officials are working diligently to ensure a thorough investigation is conducted to provide clarity on the situation.
