Police in North Charleston, South Carolina, are currently on the lookout for a woman accused of pepper-spraying a store employee and making off with an Xbox and two controllers. The incident took place at a Gamestop store near Tanger Outlets on Thursday, shortly before 1 p.m.
According to an incident report, the victim, who is an employee at the store, stated that the woman entered the premises in search of two virtual reality headsets. However, she later changed her mind and requested an Xbox along with two controllers. As the employee returned with the Xbox, the woman suddenly pepper-sprayed him.
The employee attempted to alert authorities by calling 911, but the woman pepper-sprayed him a second time, threatening him with further harm if he did not comply. She uttered, “You gonna hand me the Xbox or am I gonna keep spraying?” before forcibly taking the Xbox and controllers from the store.
The total value of the stolen items amounted to nearly $780, as per the report filed with the police.
