NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The North Charleston Police Department is currently investigating a shocking incident where 12 French bulldog puppies were stolen from a residence in North Charleston. The puppies, with an estimated value ranging between $32,000 and $37,000, were abducted by a group of five masked individuals from a home on Bream Road on Tuesday, Feb. 13, as per a police report.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers were informed by one of the victims that five suspects had forcibly entered the garage of the residence by apparently kicking in the rear door to abscond with the 12 precious puppies, as detailed in the report. The report mentions that the puppies had not been listed for sale yet, and only a handful of individuals were informed of their presence at that specific location.
The victim disclosed to the police that the suspects, all wearing black hoodies and masks, made their getaway from the rear of the property with the crates containing the puppies. They then proceeded to load the crates into a black sedan and a dark gray sedan, make and model unknown, before fleeing towards Dorchester Road.
Tragically, the security cameras at the residence and the neighboring property were non-operational during the time of the theft. The report indicates that there was no evident attempt to breach the main residence, leading investigators to believe that the crime was meticulously planned and targeted specifically at the puppies.
In a heartwarming gesture of support, the owners of Salon 61 in West Ashley have pledged a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the safe return of the stolen French bulldog puppies. This reward serves as a testament to the community’s solidarity during this distressing time.
The North Charleston Police Department is actively pursuing leads and gathering evidence to bring the perpetrators of this heinous theft to justice. Any individuals with information regarding this incident are urged to come forward and assist in the investigation.
