The incident happened on a quiet Thursday afternoon when an 18-wheeler struggling to navigate a train crossing was hit by an oncoming freight train. The semi-truck was loaded with what was later identified as an M109 Paladin Howitzer, a mobile artillery vehicle.
The collision resulted in dire damages to both the freight train and the semi-truck. The military vehicle also suffered severe damages highlighting the intense force of the accident. Portions of the road near the train crossing were shut down due to the extensive damages caused by the collision.
