Folly Beach Prepares for Heartwarming 20th Annual Race for Life on March 29, 2025

Folly Beach Gears Up for a Special Celebration of Life

The cozy coastal city of Folly Beach, S.C. is buzzing with excitement as it prepares to host the 20th Annual Race for Life on March 29, 2025. This heartwarming event, organized by We Are Sharing Hope SC, is not just a race; it’s a wonderful gathering of individuals coming together to honor the invaluable gift of life through organ, eye, and tissue donation.

Running for a Cause

Every year, the race attracts runners and walkers from all over, each with their own unique stories. It’s a special occasion where transplant recipients lace up their sneakers to run alongside the family members of generous donor heroes from South Carolina. “The race is an opportunity to take a moment and remember all those who have given the most precious gift, the gift of life,” says Krystal Cau, Director of Communications at We Are Sharing Hope SC. This sentiment resonates deeply with many, as it serves as a reminder of the impact that donations can have on countless lives.

A Community United

The community spirit is palpable at the Race for Life, with both joy and gratitude filling the air. “We are grateful for our community, hospital partners, but most of all our donor families for their bravery and generosity,” adds Cau. This event not only raises funds for educational programs on organ donation but also inspires individuals to become advocates for this critical cause.

Get Involved!

For those looking to participate, online registration is already open, making it easy for everyone to join in. Participants can choose between a 5K and a 10K race option, which should accommodate various fitness levels. And if you can’t make it to Folly Beach in person, no worries! You can still contribute by signing up as a “Hero from Home.” This option allows you to support the donation mission from wherever you are, making it an inclusive experience for all.

Early Bird Special

If you’re thinking about taking part, now’s the time to register! There’s an early bird pricing option available through November 30, 2024. So lace up those running shoes, gather your friends, and jump on this opportunity to be part of something truly special!

A Legacy of Hope

The Race for Life is more than just a running event; it’s a celebration of hope, love, and community. Each year, participants cross the finish line with triumphant smiles, knowing they are part of a greater mission to promote awareness for organ and tissue donation. They share moments of laughter and tears, uniting in their appreciation for the lives saved through donations.
