The incident happened on West Hudson Avenue, when the cat’s owner, Paul Tillman, returned home after preparing for his father’s memorial. He reported finding his tabby cat, Skittles, with a laceration and a distinctive zigzagged pattern shaved into its back. The incident is believed to have taken place last Thursday, June 13, between 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Shocked by the cat’s condition, Tillman immediately took Skittles to a local veterinarian for treatment. The cat underwent the necessary medical procedures and received stitches and a drain for its wounds. After ensuring that Skittles received proper medical care, Tillman promptly reported the incident to the Folly Beach Police.

In response to the incident, Pet Helpers, a local animal welfare organization, has announced a reward of $1,000 for information that would lead to the discovery and arrest of the person responsible for Skittles’ condition.
