In the early hours of Monday, a vacant home in North Charleston, South Carolina was engulfed in flames, prompting a swift response from the local fire department.
The North Charleston Fire Department was alerted to the fire around 2:30 a.m. The site of the fire, a house located on Iroquois Street, was quickly surrounded by emergency personnel. On arrival, the firefighters were met with a spectacle of heavy smoke and bright flames extending from the roof.
Assistant Chief Christan Rainey of the North Charleston Fire Department confirmed the house as being vacant at the time of the incident. After carrying out a thorough search, it was ascertained that no people or animals were trapped inside. The otherwise disconcerting situation was therefore free of the potential danger of causing physical harm or loss of life.
The blaze, as potent as it was, proved controllable under the dedicated efforts of the firefighters. Despite the intensity of the flames and the early hour of operation, the fire was brought under control by 4 a.m., a display of adept crisis management by the North Charleston Fire Department.
