Dunkin’ Enthusiasts Line Up Early for New Cainhoy Location Opening

Excitement Brewed as Dunkin’ Opens New Location in Cainhoy

In a town known for its rich history and Southern charm, the air was buzzing with excitement as the Dunkin’ opened its latest location in Cainhoy this past Friday, December 12. Coffee lovers were out in full force, lining up as early as 2 a.m. outside the brand new café located at 838 Foundation St. in the popular Point Hope community.

A Caffeinated Adventure Begins

The chilly morning air didn’t deter eager customers, many of whom sported their coziest jackets, winter hats, and even snuggly fleece blankets as they formed a winding line that curled around the parking lot. As the opening time drew near, the energy was palpable. Dunkin’ staff members delighted the first few customers by handing out glazed munchkins, and everyone was buzzing about the grand prize: free coffee for a year for the first 100 customers!

Meet the First in Line

The first person in line, Merrick Moss, a local video game creator who now calls Cainhoy home, proudly wore his Dunkin’ patronage like a badge of honor. He braved the cold to ensure he was among the lucky ones who’d snag a year’s worth of coffee—52 coupons to be exact! Merrick, a former Bostonian, reminisced about the days when Dunkin’ was as common as sunshine in his hometown, home to many celebrities like Ben Affleck and John Krasinski.

“We’ve been looking forward to this opening for weeks,” he shared with a smile, clutching his fresh coffee and snacks for his family. “It’s about time we had a good coffee place in the neighborhood since Loco Café closed last year.”

The Younger Crowd Joins the Fun

Not far behind in line were Felipe Silva and his girlfriend Gracie Creson, both seniors at Phillip Simmons High School. They joined the queue at 3 a.m. and patiently waited as the sun began to rise. The couple was determined to get a jump start on their day before finals, and a hot cup of coffee was just what they needed.

Meanwhile, Steve Ferrell, another local resident, joined the line at 3:45 a.m., noticing a wave of coffee enthusiasts arriving as the dawn broke. With camaraderie in the air, local teacher Kevin Sorbanelli even biked over to cheer on his students waiting in line. “We’re Dunkin’ fanatics,” he quipped, showcasing his enthusiasm for the beloved chain.

Dunkin’ Joins the Neighborhood

As Dunkin’ opens its doors, it joins a rapidly growing array of businesses in the Gates shopping center. The development is already home to buzzing spots like Domino’s and Community Crafthouse, with another restaurant, Ye Ole Fashioned, and Catrina’s Tequila & Taco Bar set to debut shortly, proving that Cainhoy is becoming a new hub for dining and shopping.

“It’s a gold mine, especially with all these franchises coming in early,” Sorbanelli noted, reflecting on the boom of new businesses and the vitality they bring to the community.

Ready to Serve with a Smile

With nearly 100 Dunkin’ locations across the Carolinas, including 14 in the Charleston area alone, Coastal Franchising LLC is eager to keep the coffee flowing and the community caffeinated. Whether it’s a black coffee, a sweet iced latte, or a delicious baked good, the new Cainhoy Dunkin’ is sure to become a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike!

So, if you’re in the mood for a warm drink and a friendly atmosphere, head on over to the new Dunkin’. With passionate fans like Moss, Silva, and Creson, it’s clear that this café is destined to be a prime destination in the heart of Cainhoy.
