Hey there, Daniel Island! November is shaping up to be a busy month for our beautiful community, and who doesn’t love a chance to connect and keep informed? There are several important meetings lined up this month, and we’re here to give you all the details you need to be part of these vibrant discussions!
First up, we have the Dica meeting happening on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. This gathering will be held via Zoom, which means you can join right from the comfort of your home. Just a heads up, registration is required to attend. You’ll want to make sure you register online by 4 p.m. on the day of the meeting to secure your spot.
This meeting is especially significant as it’s where the three newly elected members of the DICA Board of Directors will be announced. You might be wondering, who exactly is the DICA? Well, it includes property owners from the neighborhoods of Codner’s Ferry Park, Cochran Park, Center Park, Edgefield Park, Pierce Park, Barfield Park, Smythe Park, the Cove, and Etiwan Park. It’s a fantastic chance to learn about what’s happening in your neighborhood and have your voice heard!
Wait, there’s more! On the same evening, from 6 to 8 p.m., the Daniel Island Neighborhood Association (DINA) will hold its gathering at the Daniel Pointe Retirement Community located at 514 Robert Daniel Drive. DINA is a grass-roots group dedicated to preserving and enhancing the quality of life here on Daniel Island.
During the meeting, they will hold an election for the vice president position, so if you’re passionate about the community, this is your moment! You’ll also hear from some fantastic speakers, including Lt. George Bradley from the City of Charleston Police Department, along with city council members and a representative from the SC Port Authority who will provide updates on some exciting new port developments and their implications for our island.
Living on Daniel Island? If you’re within the North or South neighborhoods, you automatically become a member of DINA just by sharing your contact info! And the best part? There’s no cost to join! Feel free to reach out to Jarrod Brooks at danielislandneighborhood@gmail.com for more info.
Shifting gears, next we have the Daniel Island Town Association (DITA) meeting happening on Nov. 11 at 12 p.m. via Zoom. Just like the previous meetings, registration is a must, so be sure to sign up by 10 a.m. on the day of the meeting! DITA includes commercial properties, condominiums, and apartments on the island, so if that’s your scene, don’t miss out!
And finally, on the same day, we have the Daniel Island Park Association (DIPA) meeting starting at 6 p.m.. This one also requires registration by 4 p.m. that day to secure your attendance. DIPA represents property owners in Daniel Island Park, Captain’s Island, and the Retreat, ensuring everyone’s voice is represented in conversations.
To stay updated about these meetings and any other events happening around the island, be sure to check out the Daniel Island Property Owners’ Association website. Whether you’re a long-time resident or new to the area, these meetings are a great way to connect, learn, and grow within our wonderful community.
