HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The College of Charleston women’s basketball team is set to kick off their weekend road trip in Hempstead, NY, where they will take on the Hofstra Pride on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. The Cougars are coming off an impressive 97-58 road victory against UNCW, where five players reached double figures in scoring. Charleston is currently on a hot streak, having won three straight games and six of their past seven.
Jenna Annecchiarico had a standout performance in the last game, leading the Cougars with 26 points on 10-of-15 shooting. She also contributed six rebounds, five steals, and four assists. Annecchiarico has been a key player for Charleston this season, with this game marking her eighth 20-point performance. Another standout player in the previous game was Zoe McCrary, who recorded her first-ever double-double with 11 points and a career-high 16 rebounds.
The Hofstra Pride currently hold a season record of 9-14 with a 3-9 mark in conference play. In their most recent games, the Pride went 1-1, falling to Stony Brook (81-48) on the road before bouncing back with a victory over Northeastern (66-46) at home. Emma Von Essen leads the team with a strong performance in the last game, scoring 22 points and marking her third game of the season with over 20 points. Ally Knights also made a significant contribution with 5 assists in their win against Northeastern.
The stage is set for an exciting matchup as the Cougars and the Pride face off at the Mack Sports Complex. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. as Charleston looks to extend their winning streak on the road.
