TOWSON, Md. – Cougars Ready to Roar in Rematch with Towson

The College of Charleston men’s basketball team is gearing up for an exciting rematch against the Towson Tigers this Saturday, February 24 in Maryland. The highly anticipated game is set for noon at TU Arena and will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.

Leading the charge for Charleston was Rodgers with 20 points, followed by Brzovic, Burnham, and Scott each adding 11 points. The Cougars showcased their offensive prowess by shooting 52% from the field, marking their fourth game this season shooting over 50%. Additionally, Charleston tied their season-high with 11 steals against the Blue Hens.

Charleston boasts impressive national rankings, sitting seventh in bench points per game (32.18), third in three-point attempts per game (31.0), and 11th in total three-pointers made per game (10.2). CJ Fulton stands out as he leads the nation in assist turnover ratio (4.56) and has been a vital playmaker for the team throughout the season.

Six different Cougars players are averaging at least eight points per game, with Brzovic leading the pack with 12.6 points, followed closely by Burnham with 12.1 points and Smith with 11.7 points.

Recap of the Previous Matchup

In their previous encounter with Towson, the Tigers seized an early lead with a 6-0 run and a barrage of three-pointers, establishing a 16-7 advantage. However, Charleston fought back and managed to tie the game at 28-28 with a strong performance before the halftime break.

Both teams traded blows in the second half, with Charleston displaying resilience on defense and initiating scoring runs of their own. Unfortunately, Towson’s offense proved to be too much for the Cougars to handle in the latter stages of the game.
