College of Charleston baseball continued their winning streak with a dominant 12-3 victory over UNCW, securing the series win over the Seahawks. The Cougars’ explosive offense combined with solid pitching propelled them to their sixth consecutive win.

Early Lead

The Cougars wasted no time getting on the board, as Cole Singsank launched a three-run homer in the first inning. UNCW responded with two runs of their own, but Charleston extended their lead with RBIs from Dariyan Pendergrass and Avery Neaves in the second inning.

Key Contributions

Neaves added to his stellar performance with a solo home run in the fifth inning, further solidifying the Cougars’ advantage. Charleston put the game out of reach with a five-run eighth inning, highlighted by key hits from Trotter Harlan and bases loaded walks from Cole Mathis and Singsank.

Strong Pitching

The Cougars’ bullpen excelled, holding the Seahawks scoreless over the final four innings of the game. Aidan Hunter earned the win on the mound, pitching five innings and allowing three runs on six hits and two walks, while striking out three. Alex Lyon provided three shutout innings of relief to seal the victory for Charleston.

Standout Performances

Will Baumhofer and Dariyan Pendergrass both had impressive outings at the plate, each going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and contributing to the offensive onslaught. Singsank finished the day 1-for-3 with four RBIs, two walks, and two runs scored, showcasing his power and discipline at the plate.

Series Sweep in Sight

With the series win in hand, Charleston will look to complete the sweep against UNCW in their next matchup. The Cougars will aim to carry the momentum from their current winning streak into the final game of the series.
