He had been serving in this role on an interim basis since June and has now officially dropped the “interim” label, effective August 28. The Board of Directors, led by Chairman Will Whitley, praised Brenan’s experience and commitment, stating that it became clear he was the right person to spearhead the chamber, ensuring that the voices of South Carolina businesses are heard loud and clear.
Brenan, who previously held a regional president position at Truist Bank, is focused on supporting businesses both large and small. As part of his transition, he has made key changes in leadership positions within the chamber, including naming Cynthia Bennett as executive vice president and chief operating officer and Will Frierson as executive vice president and chief government affairs officer.
