College of Charleston Women’s Basketball Team Advances to Postseason For First Time in a Decade

Charleston, SC – The College of Charleston women’s basketball team is gearing up for postseason play for the first time in nearly a decade. The Cougars, with a 21-9 record, will be competing in the WNIT tournament, facing USC Upstate in the opening round on March 21 at the G.B. Hodge Center in Spartanburg.

Matchup Against USC Upstate

The Cougars will be taking on the USC Upstate Spartans, who finished the season with a 16-15 record. Led by graduate students Trinity Johnson and Isabell West, the Spartans are looking to make a statement in the tournament. College of Charleston coach Robin Harmony believes that his team matches up well against USC Upstate and is focused on playing a full 40 minutes to secure a victory.

Player Focus on Jada Logan

One player to watch in this matchup is Jada Logan, a guard for the Cougars who previously played for USC Upstate. Logan’s experience and competitive spirit will be vital in helping the Cougars advance in the tournament. With Logan’s familiarity with her former team, the game is expected to be even more intense.

Looking Ahead

For the College of Charleston women’s team, this postseason appearance marks a significant milestone after a decade-long absence from the playoffs. Coach Harmony sees this opportunity as a chance for his players to gain valuable tournament experience and showcase their talent on a bigger stage. The Cougars are determined to make the most of this opportunity and aim to finish the season on a high note.
