College of Charleston Launches Accelerated Executive MBA Program
The College of Charleston, located in South Carolina, has announced the introduction of an accelerated Executive MBA (EMBA) program, aiming to cater to working professionals advanced in their business careers. The program, set to commence in January 2025, stands as the only one of its kind in South Carolina, according to the college’s recent press release.
MBA Program Tailored to Working Professionals
The EMBA program is constructed with the intention of equipping professionals with advanced skills and knowledge required for executive roles, whilst fitting around their demanding work schedules. In order to provide a necessary level of flexibility, the classes are organized in a hybrid format, combining both online and offline methodologies, without compromising on academic rigor.
Unlike the traditional two-year full-time program, this condensed model will run for only 18 months, allowing quicker progress towards the achievement of a graduate business degree.

The executive program’s curriculum covers an array of core business subjects including leadership, strategic management, and executive decision making. It centers around the application of these skills to real-world cases and challenges, designed specifically for the executive level.
Ron Magnuson, the executive director of graduate and executive programs for the College of Charleston School of Business, expressed excitement over offering students the accelerated EMBA format. Upon completion of an EMBA program, graduates typically see an annual salary increase of $10,000-$15,000, according to Fortune Magazine. Additionally, research indicates that EMBAs present a higher median return on investment compared to other advanced business degrees and are four times more profitable than a traditional MBA, reinforcing the potential benefits of such a program.
