CLASSROOM CHAMPIONS: Charleston teacher needs help exposing students to diverse cultures

Project Proposal

To further enhance the cultural education at James Simons Montessori School, Savage is proposing a project to provide students with a wider range of multicultural literature. The project aims to introduce students to stories and perspectives from various cultures, promoting empathy, understanding, and respect for diversity.

Savage envisions creating a dedicated multicultural literature library within the school, filled with books representing different cultures, backgrounds, and experiences. This library would serve as a resource for both teachers and students, encouraging exploration and dialogue about the world’s rich tapestry of cultures.

Call for Support

While Savage is passionate about this project, she acknowledges that funding is needed to make it a reality. She is reaching out to the community, parents, and potential donors to support this initiative. Donations of multicultural books, financial contributions, or assistance in setting up the library would all be greatly appreciated.

By fostering cultural awareness and understanding, James Simons Montessori School hopes to equip its students with the knowledge and empathy needed to thrive in an increasingly diverse world. With the support of the community, Savage’s project can make a lasting impact on the students and the school as a whole.
