RICHMOND, Va. – Charleston’s Connor Campbell has been named Pitcher of the Week by the CAA for his dominant performance on Sunday in the Cougars win over Youngstown State. Campbell’s efforts wrapped up a series sweep over the visiting Penguins.

Campbell’s flirted with Charleston baseball first ever perfect game on Sunday, retiring the first 23 batters faced. A two-out single to right field broke up the lefty’s perfect game and no-hit bid. Campbell’s final line was one hit, zero walks and three strikeouts over 7.2 innings pitched as the graduate moved to 2-0 on the season with a 0.66 ERA through two starts.
