Charleston Welcomes ‘Teachable Moments’ Radio Segment

Charleston, South Carolina, April 09, 2024 – South Carolina Public Radio (SC Public Radio) and the College of Charleston have joined forces to introduce a new radio segment designed to provide valuable insights for students and parents. The one-minute segment, ‘Teachable Moments,’ hosted by Dr. Rénard Harris from the College of Charleston, will premiere on April 12, 2024.

‘Teachable Moments’ aims to address a wide range of educational issues, including the impact of cellphones in classrooms, homework management, mental health awareness, and childhood obesity. Meet Dr. Rénard Harris

Dr. Rénard Harris, an Associate Professor of Management at the College of Charleston, is known for his expertise in multicultural education, diversity, equity, and inclusion. With an Ed.D. in teacher education, Dr. Harris is committed to bridging the gap between educators, parents, and students to create a collaborative learning environment.
