Throw Out Your Ex’s Belongings on Valentine’s Day to Help the American Heart Association

In Charleston, South Carolina, residents will have an opportunity on February 14 to throw away their ex’s belongings for free while benefiting the American Heart Association at the same time.
A Unique Approach to Moving On
In an effort to provide a means for people to move on from past relationships, Junk King Charleston is branding one of its vehicles as a “Dump Truck” this Valentine’s Day. The truck, adorned with festively relevant decor, will cruise around different parts of the city throughout the day.
Citizens are encouraged to symbolically cleanse themselves of past romantic memories by tossing their ex’s belongings into the truck. This offers an innovative solution, blending heartache with a dose of charity and community support.
Donations for Each Dump
For each item dumped into the “Dump Truck,” Junk King Charleston has pledged to donate $1 to the American Heart Association. These funds are earmarked for heart research, support for patients and families affected by heart disease, and programs aimed at raising awareness of heart health. There is, however, a cap on the donations, with a maximum donation of $500, and participants are limited to two items each.
