Charleston Prepares for 47th Annual Turkey Day Run & Gobble Wobble Event

Charleston Gets Ready for the 47th Annual Turkey Day Run & Gobble Wobble!

Charleston, S.C. – With Thanksgiving just around the corner, many families are gearing up for a festive celebration. But if you’re looking for a non-traditional way to spend the holiday that includes a bit of fun and service to the community, look no further! The beloved Turkey Day Run & Gobble Wobble 5K is back, and it’s set to be bigger and better than ever as it returns for its 47th year in 2024!

Get Ready to Run!

This year, the exciting race starts and ends at Marion Square, taking runners through some of Charleston’s most iconic and historic neighborhoods. Picture yourself jogging past the historic market, taking a moment to appreciate The Mills House Hotel, and admiring the stunning architecture of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church before crossing the finish line in front of the elegant Francis Marion Hotel.

Mark your calendars because on Thanksgiving Day, participants can check-in between 7 a.m. and 8:45 a.m., with the official start time set for 9 a.m. This is the perfect opportunity to get a good workout in before indulging in a hearty Thanksgiving feast!

A Fun Finish!

Once you cross that finish line, it’s time to relax and celebrate! Runners can look forward to a post-race celebration featuring music, delicious free food, and refreshing beer to enjoy as a reward for their hard work. Sounds tempting, right?

Oh, and don’t forget about the awards ceremony! Exciting prizes will be given to the top 10 male and female finishers, which is a great incentive to bring your A-game! Who doesn’t want to take home some bragging rights after such a fun day?

Fun for the Little Ones!

Have kids aged 10 years or under? Don’t worry; they’ve got a chance to join in on the festivities too! A children’s fun run kicks off at 10:30 a.m. after the main event. It’s a great way to get them excited about fitness while spending quality time with the family this Thanksgiving.

Giving Back!

But wait, there’s more! This isn’t just a day for fun and fitness; it’s also a chance to give back to the community. Proceeds from the Turkey Day Run will benefit local charities, making your participation not only enjoyable but impactful. What could possibly be better than sweating it out and knowing you’re also helping those in need?
