CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston’s men’s basketball program has made a significant addition to its coaching staff with the appointment of Tre Campbell as the Director of Player Personnel and assistant coach. Campbell, a former standout player at Georgetown and South Carolina, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Cougars.

Campbell’s journey to Charleston has seen him excel both on the court and in coaching roles. Prior to joining the college, he served as an assistant coach at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, starting in 2021. At IMG, Campbell played a pivotal role in scouting, recruiting, and player development. He had the honor of coaching three NBA draft picks and four McDonald’s All-Americans.

During his time at IMG Academy, Campbell’s players were involved in prestigious events such as the McDonald’s All-American Games, Nike Hoop Summit Class, Jordan Brand All-American Game, Iverson Classic, Capital Classic, and Under Armour Elite 24. This valuable experience has equipped him with the necessary skills to mentor and guide aspiring basketball players.
