Vazquez, a devoted CrossFit athlete, has trained for over ten years to realize his dream of competing in the masters CrossFit games. Vazquez told HERE News Network about the years of consistent training he dedicated to qualify for the games. Juggling his work and home life with his rigorous training schedule, he is proud to see his hard work finally yield tangible results. With tentative excitement and determination burning in his eyes, Vazquez stated, “It’s been ten years now with consistent training where I can qualify for the masters CrossFit games, and it’s a lot of work, work, life, home life, and in the gym, and it finally paid off.”
Charleston Police Chief Chito Walker showed immense pride in Vazquez’s notable achievement. Speaking highly of the officer’s dedication and hard work, he confirmed that there would not be any shock within the police department if Vazquez clinched the coveted title. According to Walker, the world will get to witness the exceptional balance and discipline Vazquez exhibits daily, something the Charleston community is already privy to. Underscoring the officer’s comprehensive contribution to the community, Walker stated, “The world is going to see what we see daily. The things he does for this community. He has such a balance, so we’re highlighting who he is.”
The CrossFit Games are set to begin on Thursday, August 29. The global event attracting fitness aficionados worldwide will be live-streamed, thus enabling widespread access to witness fierce athletic battles. As members gear up to compete, the world watches with bated breath, and Charleston rallies behind the local hero, Anthony Vazquez.
