New Renderings Unveiled for Charleston Place’s $150 Million Renovation Project

Newly Released Renderings Preview The Charleston Place’s Upgrade Under $150 Million Renovation Project

New sketches have debuted, providing an intricate look at expected changes to the iconic Charleston Place as an ambitious $150 million renovation plan is set in motion. The location’s owners, Beemok Hospitality Collection (BHC), recently announced the creation of a new in-house interior design studio known as Atelier Kim, tasked with leading the renovation proceedings.

A Team with a Sterling Track record

The driving force behind Atelier Kim is founder and design principal Jungsoo Kim. With a stellar 20-year career in the luxury hospitality industry, she has notably worked on design projects at significant landmarks, including the Plaza Hotel in New York and the Ritz Carlton Shanghai. Now, she brings her accumulated expertise and experience to The Charleston Place.

Wide-Ranging Transformations on the Cards

The renovation plan is set to overhaul nearly every nook and cranny of the hotel. This includes a facelift for the grand entrance, upgrades in guestrooms, and revamping of the spa & fitness center. Even dining areas are set for transformation. All these changes will be implemented in phases to minimize disruptions for guests and visitors.

Community and Tradition in Mind

BHC’s Vice President of Communications, Courtney Long, gave assurances that while the upgrades are significant, they aim to augment the hotel’s offerings without distorting what The Charleston Place means to the community. She emphasized that the renovation plan respects the cultural significance, historical integrity, and classical architecture of the hotel while giving it the facelift it deserves.

Renovation Phases and Timelines

Work commenced earlier this month for the meeting and banquet spaces, with completion due by mid-September. At the same time, renovation is set to begin in a week on the rooftop pool/pool deck. While this space will be closed for the duration of the construction, it is projected to reopen by next Spring.

As for the final completion date, Long indicated that given the phased strategy of construction, it may take a few years before everything is complete. Despite the wait, she assures that the transformation will provide a significant enhancement to the hotel’s character.

A Bright Future for The Charleston Place

Indeed, both the community and future guests can look forward to the revamped Charleston Place maintaining its timeless charm while receiving the upgrades it needs. This renovation project will not only retain the hotel’s historical prestige but also breathe a contemporary touch into it, optimally blending tradition and modernity. The patience and understanding during this period of transformation will, without a doubt, be rewarded with a premium, redefined hospitality experience.
