Charleston Celebrates Local Musicians and Supports Restaurant Workers Amid Hurricane Recovery

Charleston Music Awards: Celebrate Local Talent and Give Back

Hey there, Charleston! It’s that time of year again—time to shine a spotlight on the incredible local musicians and creative minds that make our city so vibrant. The City Paper Music Awards are in full swing, and this is your chance to honor your favorite Holy City performers. From now until October 22, you can cast your vote daily for the artists that you think deserve top recognition!

Whether you love the soulful sounds of a local band or the electrifying performances of a solo artist, every vote counts. It’s not just about the music; it’s about celebrating the heart and soul that these performers bring to our community. You can head over to vote.charlestoncitypaper.com to make your voice heard once a day until the voting closes.

Your Vote Matters

Voting in these awards is an exciting way to show appreciation for the talent right in our backyard. It’s a wonderful moment in our culture when residents come together to recognize the hard work and creativity of local artists. So, gather your friends, take a moment to reflect on your favorite acts, and make sure to support them by voting!

Restaurants Step Up for Local Workers

30 local restaurants have pledged to donate a portion of their proceeds to the newly established Holy City Hospitality Fund (HCHF). This fund was created to aid food and beverage workers affected by the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

It’s been a tough time for many in our community, and this is a spectacular initiative to help those in need. The funds raised will go to support affected applicants across the Carolinas through Southern Smoke Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping food and beverage workers during emergencies. The foundation offers essential assistance including groceries, clothing, medication, and even help with lost wages.
