Charleston Late-Night Shooting Leaves Two Dead

In a recent turn of events, a late-night shooting on Tuesday left two dead in a downtown neighborhood of Charleston, South Carolina.

Event Details

Around 10 pm, officers of the Charleston Police Department reported hearing gunshots on Johnson Street, located between America and Hanover Streets. Responding to the scene shortly after, they discovered two gunshot victims. Tragically, both victims would later be declared dead.

Following Events

During the police investigation and the collection of evidence from the crime scene, a crowd of onlookers had gathered and reportedly turned unruly. This led to an unrelated arrest on the charges of public disorderly conduct, stated Charleston’s Police Department Lt. Anthony Gibson.

No Connection with the Shooting

Lt. Gibson clarified that the public disorderly conduct arrest had no connection with the two fatalities from the shooting. However, as of now, no arrests have been made related to the unfortunate shooting incident.

Identity of the Victims

The Charleston County Coroner’s Office is yet to release the names of the deceased victims. The investigation into the matter remains ongoing, according to Gibson.
