Popular tourism company Bulldog Tours has announced a new, unique tour experience designed explicitly for children and families. This recent initiative, launched last week, seeks to offer visitors and locals of Charleston a fun and educational way to explore the city’s rich history.
Although many of Bulldog Tours’ existing history and ghost tours have already been enjoyed by numerous families, this marks the first time the company has crafted a tour that specifically caters to children and families. John Laverne, the owner of Bulldog Tours, expressed his excitement about this new family-friendly initiative.
The new tour is aptly named “Beau’s Charleston Adventure.” Featuring Beau, Bulldog Tours’ plush mascot and official canine tour guide, participants will be led on a delightful scavenger hunt around the Historic District of Charleston.
Armed with a detailed map, participants will have the opportunity to discover and explore various iconic landmarks in the city, solve intriguing puzzles, and learn interesting facts along the journey. Furthermore, children are encouraged to take snapshots with Beau at every stop, documenting their adventure on social media platforms. By doing so, they stand a chance to win an array of exciting prizes.
Once the exploratory adventure comes to an end, a surprise treasure will be waiting for the young adventurers back at the Bulldog Headquarters.
“Charleston has a wealth of experiences to offer visitors and residents of all ages,” said LaVerne. He further added that with this activity, they hoped to offer a fresh, engaging way for the youngest guests to interact with the city’s history. The tour can be experienced at any time of the day, providing a child-friendly solution to family evening activities.
Beau’s Charleston Adventure package includes an illustrated scavenger hunt map with interactive questions, and a custom-made plush bulldog, Beau. These are available for purchase, being priced at $25. Visitors can purchase them online at BulldogTours.com or directly at Bulldog Tours, 18 Anson Street.
