The city of Charleston will be buzzing with several events from the week of Feb. 29, with activities ranging from culinary delights to live concerts, offering something exciting for everyone.
Feminist Magic Market
Celebrate Women’s History Month by recognizing and supporting more than 80 local artists, artisans, bakers, vintage vendors, at the Feminist Magic Market. Starting bright and early, there’s a pre-market yoga session hosted at Commonhouse Aleworks. Food trucks offering an assortment of delectables, including Korean corn dogs from Seol Ah’s and vegan baked goods by Salty Crumbs, will be in place. The event will take place on March 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 4824 Chateau Ave. Park Circle. General admission is free of charge.
Travis Tritt Concert
Renowned country singer-songwriter, Travis Tritt, is expected to charm the crowd with his solo acoustic tour. Audiences can anticipate enthraling renditions of top hits like “It’s A Great Day To Be Alive” and “I’m Gonna Be Somebody”. The concert is scheduled for March 2 at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center, located at 5001 Coliseum Drive, North Charleston. Gates open at 6:30 p.m and tickets can be bought online.
Teddy Bear Picnic
Charleston Parks Conservancy is hosting the 14th edition of its Teddy Bear Picnic with a theme of Where the Wild Things Are. Attendees are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Wild Thing and bring a stuffed animal. The event engages more than 15 community partners to enhance the park experience. Patrons are allowed to bring their own picnic or they can explore the food truck village. The event is set for March 3, from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Hampton Park, located at 30 Mary Murray Drive, Downtown. Entry is free.
G&G Southern Speakeasy
Garden and Gun is partnering with acclaimed Louisville chef Andrew McCabe of bar Vetti for a Prohibition-inspired cocktails and dinner at the historic Cigar Factory. Chef McCabe will delight guests with a contemporary twist to Derby City’s classic dishes. The event promises a 1920’s speakeasy-style atmosphere complemented with live jazz-era music on March 7, starting at 6 p.m. at The Cigar Factory, 701 East Bay St. Downtown. Tickets are priced at $275 that includes a cocktail hour and a three-course dinner with drink pairings.
Mario Kart Tournament
Rusty Bull Brewing will be hosting an exhilarating Mario Kart tournament featuring a 16-team bracket where participants will race for the chance to win over $200 in cash and prizes. The event is set for March 7 at 7 p.m. with a participation fee of $5 at Rusty Bull Brewing Co, located at 3005 W. Montague Ave. North Charleston.
