Sunday Brunch Farmers Market at the Pour House

The Pour House will be hosting an entirely local event, featuring more than 40 local farmers and artisans on August 25. Visitors can enjoy live music, partake in delicious food, and shop for a range of local goods. You can relax on their full deck bar or take a leisurely stroll through the market that will remain open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event is free for all attendees.

African Drum Class

On August 24, Rajeeyah B. Mujahid, a veteran drummer, will be instructing a class on African drum techniques and rhythms at the Park Circle Community Building. Participants will get an opportunity to try their hands at various African instruments including djembe, dunun, sticks, shaker, and cowbell. Everyone, irrespective of their age and experience levels, is welcome to attend. Families are particularly encouraged to take part in this cultural exploration that starts at 11 a.m. and continues till noon.

Gullah Doll-Making Class at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens

Join Genya Watson at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens on August 25 to get hands-on experience in making Gullah dolls. Watson’s creations can be found at the plantation’s gift shop and during this session, attendees can learn about the Gullah Geechee culture and create their own unique masterpieces. The class will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and all crafting materials along with light refreshments will be provided.

Group Exhibition: To the Great Unknown

The HEART Inclusive Arts Community will be presenting “To the Great Unknown”, a group exhibition showcasing interactive mixed media works that delve into life’s question marks. The exhibition beautifully illustrates how experiences with the unknown can significantly differ from person to person. This exhibition will be on display through August.

Summer Wine Festival At Charleston Harbor Terminal

Audiences can indulge in a variety of over 50 wines, along with mimosas, seltzers, and beers at the Summer Wine Festival taking place on August 26 at the Charleston Harbor Terminal. There will be live DJ performances inside the air-conditioned terminal along with live musical performances on the expansive waterside patio. With each ticket, attendees will receive entrance into the venue, a souvenir acrylic wine glass, and free drink samples. The event will be held from 3 p.m. till 7 p.m.
