In the heart of Charleston, an exciting business idea has sprung to life that’s turning heads and transforming guest rooms into cozy retreats. Meet Courtney Bukowsky, the visionary behind Stay Luggage Racks, who is on a mission to make traveling a little more stylish and a lot more comfortable!
You might be surprised to learn that Courtney wasn’t always in the furniture business. She kicked off her professional journey as an aesthetician, but her creative spirit couldn’t be contained. While working in beauty, she started a delightful side hustle where she bought and renovated vintage furniture, showcasing her fab finds on Instagram. Talk about a glow-up!
Everything changed for Courtney at a home show in Beaufort earlier this year. While showing her gorgeous vintage pieces, she had a lightbulb moment. “I remembered I had three vintage faux bamboo luggage racks sitting around, so I decided to give them a fresh coat of lacquer and swapped out the straps for some fun, colorful woven options,” Courtney shared with a big smile. To her surprise, they were a massive hit! “People went crazy over them,” she recalled. “When folks walked by, they’d say, ‘I love a luggage rack! Nobody makes pretty ones!’”
Fast forward to June 2023, and Stay Luggage Racks was born! With a focus on transforming guest bedrooms into welcoming havens, Courtney introduced a stunning line of lightweight and foldable racks. Dressed in chic Palm Beach vibes, each luggage rack offers a touch of elegance, with styles like the vibrant “Honey” — a sunny orange adorned with celery green straps, paying homage to her lovely mother.
In a bold move, Courtney decided to close her previous venture, One of a Find, to hone in on her passion for guest-room accessories. “It was a big decision, but I wanted to create quality products and have more time to attend home shows across the country,” she explained. And what’s next on the horizon? Courtney has big plans for Stay. She envisions expanding the brand to offer a whole range of guest-room goodies, including serving trays, plush towels, cozy eye masks, and slippers! “The idea happened so organically. Lots of changes are coming this year,” she exclaimed with enthusiasm. “We are excited to see where it takes us.”

With her eye on the future and a heart full of passion, Courtney Bukowsky is teaching us that home is where the luggage racks are — especially when they look this good!
